He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, Mississippi and the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. During his fellowship training, Dr. Pokabla served as a team physician for Tulane University. He is currently an associate master instructor for AANA shoulder courses at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago, IL. Additionally, he serves as the team physician for Arlington High School and as a preceptor for medical students at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM). He is also a past president of the Memphis Medical Society and a past preceptor for Christian Brothers University physician assistant students.
