Direct Anterior Hip Replacement
Anterior hip replacement offers a different path compared to the traditional posterior approach. In the standard method, surgeons reach the hip joint by via the back of the hip, which requires working through often thick muscle. With the anterior approach, the surgeon accesses the joint through the front of the hip region, sparing the muscles at the back, which can lead to less pain and shorter recovery times because of less tissue disruption.
