Jason A. Weaver, MD, FAANS

Jason A. Weaver, MD, FAANS is a neurosurgical spine surgeon at OrthoSouth who treats low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, disc herniations, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, and other conditions of the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine. He offers the full spectrum of spine care, from conservative management and minimally invasive techniques to complex reconstructive spine surgery when needed. Dr. Weaver sees patients at OrthoSouth in Germantown, Southaven, and Memphis-Briarcrest.

Dr. Weaver has devoted most of his career to working in the Memphis area with the Semmes-Murphey Clinic and the University of Tennessee Department of Neurosurgery. During this time he has held positions including Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery with University of Tennessee (2007-2024), Board of Directors for Semmes Murphey Clinic (2014-2020), Neuro-Line Service Director for Radiation Oncology and Stereotactic Spinal Radiosurgery for Semmes Murphey Clinic and Baptist Radiation Center (2008-2024), as well as Team Neurosurgeon for a number of Memphis-based professional and collegiate sports teams.

Dr. Weaver completed his neurosurgical residency and fellowship at the University of Tennessee/Semmes-Murphey Clinic in Memphis, followed by a neuro-oncology fellowship with MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas, where he focused on spine oncology and reconstructive spine surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Laurence Rhines.

Dr. Weaver completed his surgical internship with the University of Tennessee Department of Surgery in Memphis, TN after graduating from medical school magna cum laude from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO.

Dr. Weaver focuses on all aspects of spine care ranging from conservative management, minimally invasive techniques, all the way to the most complex reconstructive spine surgeries. His practice includes diseases and conditions of the lumbar spine, thoracic spine, and cervical spine.
