Constance Simpson, APRN is an advanced nurse practitioner working at OrthoSouth clinics in Memphis (Briarcrest Ave.) and Germantown alongside Dr. Tom Giel. She possesses extensive nursing experience in interventional pain management, orthopedics, and neurosciences, including time as a nurse for Semmes Murphey Clinic, OrthoSouth’s Crosstown Back and Pain Institute, and most recently, as a nurse practitioner at SpineXpress in Arlington, TN.
During her time as a registered nurse and then advanced practice nurse, Constance underwent extensive one-on-one training with neurosurgeons, actively participating as a first assistant in operating rooms, and delivering comprehensive care to diverse patients involving evaluating and treating neurological and musculoskeletal complaints, performing various injections with and without ultrasound guidance, ordering appropriate tests, and prescribing and monitoring medications. She has played a key role in surgeries such as kyphoplasty and spinal cord stimulator procedures, while also fostering effective relationships with patients and medical staff. Her roles have also included patient education on pain management methods and collaborating with physicians on alternative approaches to narcotic pain medications.
Starting her career as a Registered Nurse at Semmes Murphey Clinic and later at Baptist Memorial Hospital, she gained valuable experience in interventional pain medicine, neurosurgery, and patient care. Notably, she co-authored a journal article and actively participated in research studies, showcasing her commitment to advancing medical knowledge.
