Laura's Ankle Recovery with Dr. Dean Jameson
I injured my right ankle July 2019. I am a specialist teacher, and the pain was affecting my ability to teach. The pain persisted, so I finally went to OrthoSouth in late August. I was placed in a boot and scheduled testing. I am so thankful to have become a patient of Dr. W.Dean Jameson. Each visit, he was very thorough in explaining the issue and the next steps of care. I was initially resistant to possibility of surgery, but as the pain progressed I was dependent on the boot for mobility. Dr. Jameson explained the surgery and follow-up rest and rehab. He was clear about the amount of time needed off from work.
I made the decision to have surgery in late November to coincide with school holidays. Recovery was a long and painful process; however, I do not regret my decision for a moment. I now am a specialist teacher that is required to travel from class to class due to COVID-19. This would NOT be possible had I chosen to decline the surgery. I am so grateful for the ability to walk and move without pain, for my family's care during rehab, and for Dr. Jameson!
