Dr. Matthew Kangas is a board certified interventional pain management specialist and anesthesiologist at OrthoSouth’s Crosstown Back & Pain Institute located at Crosstown Concourse in Memphis. A Michigan native, Dr. Kangas majored in electrical engineering and mathematics at Detroit’s University of Detroit Mercy before attending Michigan State University Medical School. He completed both his residency in Anesthesiology and his fellowship in Interventional Pain with the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor. He joined Tabor Orthopedics in 2016 and helped found the Crosstown Back & Pain Institute, a division of MSK Group, P.C. (now OrthoSouth), in 2017.
Dr. Kangas enjoys a number of hobbies, including biking, fishing, and golf, weather permitting. When getting outdoors is not possible, you may also find him painting or exercising his skills in photography.
