Position:                                 MRI Technician

Workdays/Hours:                  Fulltime: Monday-Friday  (Some shared evening and weekend hours may be required.)

 


 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of 24-month AMA approved School of Radiology Technology
  • 12 months previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality
  • ARRT certification in Radiology
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely
  • Skill in operation of MRI equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment
  • Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to project a professional, pleasant image while interacting with others
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple tasks under stress with frequent interruptions
  • Strong attention to detail is necessary
  • Ability to responsibly handle and maintain confidential information

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts
  • Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff and screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance
  • Scan patients on MRI machine daily and submit imaging to Radiologist PAC’s system
  • Obtain high quality, diagnostic images of the anatomy requested by the physician using appropriate safety precautions
  • Capture and transmit images according to designated MRI protocol
  • Start I.V.’s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
  • Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
  • Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.
