Medical Records/Legal Coordinator

Location: Hybrid – Remote/Briarcrest Office

Hours: Mon-Fri; 8 am to 5 pm / Fulltime

 


 
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in workers’ compensation
  • A minimum of one years’ experience in handling medical records
  • Substantial knowledge of legal records processes and scheduling (ex. IME, depositions, and subpoenas)
  • Fundamental knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the insurance legal and regulatory environment
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to project a professional, pleasant image while interacting with others; must demonstrate tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions
  • Well organized, ability to multi-task, self-motivated and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail is necessary.
  • Advanced level of computer skills required, including electronic medical records, fax servers, internet, spreadsheets, and Word/Excel
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly handle and maintain confidential information.
Responsibilities:
  • Competently and accurately obtains patient information, completes data entry, and process requests pertaining to Medical Records and Worker’s Compensation
  • Fulfill all subpoena requests.
  • Schedule, prepare all paperwork, and collect pre-payments for IME’s and depositions
  • Responsible for obtaining, scheduling, and documenting all relevant information for the processing and payment of legal medical records and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Verifies and documents approvals and faxes, and routes information as appropriate for Worker’s Compensation and Legal medical records requests.
  • Back up the fax and medical records servers for timely responses to all inquiries.
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
