The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing human resource related duties on a professional level and works closely with employees and OrthoSouth management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: 401k, recruiting/employment, review performance, compensation, onboarding, training, data reporting, employee relations, policy implementation and employment law compliance.
➢ Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resources with 2-3 years of related experience. SHRM professional certification is also preferred. Candidate should have working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
➢ Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safe and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention and completing personnel transactions.
➢ Leads the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position identifying effective sources. Efficiently and effectively assists in filling open positions.
➢ Assists in benchmarking positions against market to ensure competitive compensation.
➢ Prepares and maintains company salary structure, job documentation, and job evaluation systems. Complete salary survey questionnaires.
➢ Designs and conducts new employee orientations.
➢ Administers and explains benefits to employees, serves as liaison between employees and health and welfare vendors.
➢ Provides advice, assistance follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
➢ Coordinates the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries.
➢ Recommends, develops and maintains human resource databases, computer software systems, and electronic filing systems.
➢ Performs specific research/investigation into operational issue, as requested.
➢ Updates job knowledge by participation in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
➢ Conducts exit interviews.
➢ Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
➢ Understanding the importance of employee and company confidentiality.
➢ Good computer software and HRIS skills.
➢ Knowledge of laws governing human resource issues.
➢ Ability to work under pressure while multi-tasking.
➢ Excellent oral, written, listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
➢ Personal vehicle is required for travel to OrthoSouth locations.
