CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) RESPONSE

POLICY UPDATE 3/1/2022

We are grateful at OrthoSouth to see signs of coronavirus waning in our communities. At this time, masks are no longer mandatory at OrthoSouth clinics but will remain optional for all staff, physicians, contractors, students, patients, and visitors to our clinics.

This policy update excludes surgery centers, which will maintain a mandatory masking policy until further notice.

We continue to monitor the community’s Covid situation, and this guidance is subject to change. Our goal as always is to deliver the best orthopedic experience in the United States, which includes keeping our staff and patients as safe as possible. Thank you for choosing us as your orthopedic provider!

Is It Safe to See My Orthopedic Surgeon During the Pandemic?

This question – is it safe to do x? – continues to float at the tops of minds across the Mid-South. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) wants patients to know that the answer to this question is, generally speaking, yes.  Read more from the AAOS here.

OrthoSouth providers are confidently welcoming patients back into our clinics and surgery centers. Please see our 5/13/2020 update below for more information about specific measures we are taking to ensure our clinics remain safe and secure.

The OrthoSouth team holds your care and safety as our top priorities. If you have any questions or concerns about accessing orthopedic care at this time, we are here to make that access as easy as possible for you. Please do not hesitate to call us, and we will be happy to help.

WELCOME BACK TO ORTHOSOUTH!

Updated 5/13/2020:

As our community re-opens, we are carefully and thoughtfully increasing access to our services.

After a necessary pause in regular operations, the entire OrthoSouth team is delighted to once again welcome you back into our clinics and surgery centers.

We understand your orthopedic needs did not stop during the pandemic, and we are grateful for your patience over the past few weeks as we have prepared the safest and most comfortable environment for orthopedic services in the Mid-South region.

We are committed to providing your orthopedic care in the safest environment possible.

To that end, we have implemented the following measures across our organization:

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
OUR SURGERY CENTERS – SAFE, CLEAN, AND READY

We are testing all physicians and surgery center staff for Covid-19, as well as testing all surgery patients prior to your date of surgery. We are taking these measures in addition to following scrupulous disinfecting procedures, adhering to physical distancing guidelines, and limiting visitors. As elective surgeries resume in Tennessee and Mississippi, we want to assure you that our surgery centers as clean and safe as ever before.

EMPLOYEE HEALTH

We value the health of our employees as much as we value the health of our patients. For everyone’s protection, we are requiring any OrthoSouth staff with concerning symptoms, with fever, with someone at home who has a fever, or who has interacted with an individual who tests positive for COVID-19 to remain at home and have no contact with our facilities until he/she receives medical clearance. When you visit one of our convenient locations, you can be confident that every OrthoSouth staff member you see has passed the daily screening measures we are using to keep our practice Covid-free.

While the details of how we deliver your exceptional orthopedic experience have changed somewhat, we want you to know that our friendly and welcoming team members are still working as hard as we can not only to offer world-class orthopedic care, but to do so in a way that surprises and delights you. We look forward to every opportunity we have to serve you, and we thank you for trusting us with your orthopedic needs.
