Case Cart Tech
LOCATION: Germantown Surgery Center
HOURS: Fulltime; Monday – Friday
POSITION SUMMARY: The Case Cart Tech is responsible for assisting the Materials Mananger with monitoring, stocking, and receiving supplies and equipment for the Facility. The Case Cart tech’s primary responsibility will be to pull items needed for cases for surgical procedures including supplies, instruments and vendor trays.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Additional languages preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Knows programs relevant to inventory management.
- Participates in opportunities of continuing education
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively over the phone, in writing and in person.
- Demonstrates the ability to utilize recognized channels of communication, including visual and auditory acuity for computer and telephone.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, co-workers, vendors, and other health team members.
CORE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Review surgical schedules and preference cards to determine supply needs for procedures.
- Verifies receipt of items against packing slip. Checks in items against purchase orders.
- Assist Materials Manager with Processing returned items for shipping and schedules pick up.
- Investigates and troubleshoots any received goods for issues/problems.
- Maintains receiving and dock area in a clean, safe and orderly condition. Raises awareness of dock security issues.
- Performs functions of supply stocking, receiving, inventory management, distribution and customer service.
- Takes inventory and orders supplies. Maintains accurate records to determine the status of orders.
- Receives all supplies and completes necessary computer or paperwork.
- Operates computer systems and applications.
- Communicates the status of supply orders within and among departments. Fills all orders for customers in a timely manner.
- Informs leadership of any supply backorders or problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
